Bill Snodgrass with his 9 1/4” Billy Goat

MT. GOAT/MOOSE/BLACK BEAR/DEER COMBINATION

OUR BEST PRICED COMBINATION HUNT

If you are looking for one of the best in the business, this outfitter is it! They are located in East Central British Columbia. All these hunts are guided, 1 x 1. They have guided bow hunters in the past. This will be the second year to offer the 14 day hunt. This hunt will be done on horseback and you will be hunting in an area that has not seen many hunters. Last year two of our hunters were the first to do this hunt, taking two Goats, three Bear and a Moose.

Last year one Bear was over 7' and one over 8'. Success usually runs 100% for Goat, 100% for Black Bear and 70% to 90% for Moose. The Deer numbers have not been great in the past, but the outfitter tells us there are some big Mule Deer and Whitetail bucks to be had. There are more Deer each year.

Goat hunting is excellent although the terrain is very rugged and physically demanding. Success has run 99%. 9" plus Billies are possible. Bill Snodgrass harvested a 9" Goat with this outfitter. We had a man in his 70's do this hunt and he took a real good Billy.

Bill feels this is a great hunt. The outfitter is one of our best. This hunt can be done with mountain bikes, motorbikes, horseback or back packing. Bill did a backpack hunt.

Remember, we are 99% on Billie Goats with this quality outfitter. If you want to add Black Bear, we would recommend the September 6 hunt and so far, we are 100% on Bear during that hunt. You have a very good chance to harvest a big Bear and possible color phase. The hunt begins in Prince George, British Columbia.

Goat only (7 days) $5,495  Black bear can be harvest with a Trophy fee of $750.

Premium Canadian Hunting
British Columbia

Great horse back hunt.
Wilderness, at its best!

In the last 5 years, this unit has produced the number 4 Canadian Moose which scored 228 3/8 (B&C) and the number 13 Grizzly at 265/8 inches, plus many Boone & Crocket Goat and Moose.

About the Outfitter:
He has worked mountain horses and guided in Northern B.C. and the Yukon since 1956. Since 1988 he has guided in this area and feels that he is just beginning to tap the potential of this vast territory of 8,500-9,000 square miles. A large percentage of the area has been untouched during the last 30-40 years, and some areas have never experienced the presence of humans except for an occasional aircraft flying overhead.

He operates in Northwestern British Columbia in the Telegraph Creed-Dease Lake area which has long been famous with sportsmen. The guide-territory is the oldest established in Northern B.C. The area was first hunted in 1884 by F. C. Galbreath, a pioneer outfitter, and was later sold to George Ball who operated it under 'Northwest Ranching and Outfitting' for over 30 years. Much of the area remians unchaged, as it has been spared heavy residential pressure. Thus the overall gave populations are in fine shape.

 Mountain Goat & Deer Hunting

Dan Gabriel's Kodiak goatMountain goat hunts take place in unit 8, on Kodiak Island . Goats on Kodiak tend to be harvested between 2000-3500 feet above sea-level. Hunters are welcome to hunt Sitka black-tailed deer on a trophy fee once their mountain goat has been harvested. Be prepared to carry up to 60lbs into the hunting areas. Once in the field, a light daypack will suffice unless camp needs to be moved. Versatility is the key to success.

For those who wish not to stay in spike tents during their hunt, local hotels can accommodate them. Hunting would then consist of driving out to the field each day and climbing up to goat country and returning each evening. Success rate is very high, but a hunter's physical conditioning many limit the success.

"Jake hunts really hard and put forth the extra effort to get us in position that enabled me to bag that goat of a lifetime. If you are going after goat, bear or sheep - Jake is the guide you want!" Dan Gabriel

According to Alaska Department of Fish and Game biologists, Kodiak's mountain goats grow at a faster rate than other goats in Alaska , ensuring trophy quality at younger ages!

Kodiak’s goat tags are by drawing only but the chance at harvesting a trophy billy is very high. Increasing goat populations have lead to an increase in tags for the areas that BRHC hunts. Our drawing areas do not require airplanes to access. So weather cannot keep you from the field or from missing any airline connections on your way home. I strongly encourage anyone interested in a great mountain goat hunt to apply for our two drawing areas. Drawing results are published in January so if you fail to draw a tag there is still plenty of time to locate an over-the-counter goat hunt. So enter the drawing with out the risk of loosing the opportunity to hunt! Please contact BRHC for information and assistance on entering the drawing.
