FLY IN HUNTING Newfoundland, Canada our best Combo Hunt! Moose There are many vantage points around
Harold's Pond Sam's Pond that are used to spot moose for an exciting "spot
and Stalk". It is common to see 4-6 moose in a hunting day at Harold's Pond
or Sam's Pond with a very high number of respectable bulls. Hunt the giant of the north. This outfitter will work with both gun and bow hunters. If your looking to bring a moose home and keep the cost down you need to book this hunt. Join the Bill and the Hunts To Remember team as we hunt in Newfoundland this year.
Woodland Caribou The location at Steele Lake, located by the outfitter, provides for
superior trophy hunting. With the fly-in remoteness Steele Lake provides our
guests with excellent opportunity in taking Boone and Crockett and Pope and
Young Trophies. Also, our site at Sam's Pond provides excellent opportunity for
record book caribou. At Sam's Pond provides the chance to hunt the Middle Ridge
Herd of caribou that, according to biologists, are the biggest antlered herd in Newfoundland. This site will be deep
in the Bay Du Nord Wildness
Reserves as is Rainy Lake, At the same time the
outfitter will provide tent and an aluminum boat and motor. This will be a
fly-out site for 2 -3 nights stays for record book caribou. At the Trophy Caribou camp they take a
maximum of 4 hunters per week; yet they can accommodate up to 6 hunters, but
only within the same party. The lodge has all the comforts of home; hot and cold
running water with showers, generated electricity and propane refrigeration, as
well as a mobile radio telephone system. At Steel Lake they provide three
aluminum boats and one canoe with outboard motors for use to travel a nine mile
water system. The western region of this system boasts the best caribou terrain
in Newfoundland (i.e.: being their breeding and calving range). With miles of
white caribou moss covering the rolling terrain and frequent shrubby Junipers,
Caribou find this terrain to be prime habitat. These caribou hunts can be tailored to
your needs. You may choose for a 1:1 hunt, (a personal guide) or a 2:1 hunt Being a commercial bush pilot this outfitter can offer versatility of the bush plane along with satellite camps!
Black
Bear Steele Lake, as well as Harold's Pond
and Sam's Pond, provides good chances to stumble onto a Black Bear; especially
at Sam's Pond. There is a high population of these trophy bruins weighing in
excess of 500-600 lbs. The outfitter offers sum great bated
hunts for very big bear! ACCOMMODATIONS:

ALBERTA BULL MOOSE
Terry Day works two jobs and has booked four
hunts with Snodgrass Big Game Hunts, Inc. The trophy Moose hunt takes place in Northwest Alberta, where
there is extensive forest and farm land. The hunt occurs during the rut and late
season. Moose hunting in the rut by calling is very exciting. You also do some
spot and stalk this hunt runs higher in cost and must be booked two years out!
The Rut hunt is the great for Bow hunters four hunters in 2003 took good archery
moose. There is also a early archery season this can be a great hunt
and if the bulls are talking a great hunt. On this early Archery hunt Aug 25 to
Sept 24 you can save a lot of money. Due to new hunting regulations and logging
over the last 15 years in Alberta, the opportunity for a trophy bull are greater
now and improving each year. After Snodgrass Big Game Hunts, Inc. making a third trip to
Alberta, we believe this is a real sleeper and is perhaps one of the best Moose
hunts available for the price. 34” to 50” inch Moose are possible. You will
stay in the outfitters lodge and the food is great. Bill feels this is our best
Moose hunt for the price. Bill and Ken his guide on late season hunt. Bill saw 35 Moose and 12 bulls on his late season Alberta hunt. Bill says you
should take a better bull then Newfoundland. The big difference between
Newfoundland is how they do there logging. Newfoundland they cut very big areas
with no farm land and you have mountains so spot and stalk works very well.
Alberta there is big areas of bush mixed with farm land. You need to understand
you could see a big bull on private land and not be able to shoot it. The area
is much flatter and you must walk in the morning and you can 4 wheel from noon
on. Keep in mind if you want to save money and still bring home a bull moose
book the late season Moose hunt. We do not push combo hunts but this is a great combo hunt!!!!!!!!!! WESTERN CANADIAN MOOSE
I, personally, hunted here out of McBride, B.C., taking a good Goat and had two opportunities to harvest Moose in the 50" class. This outfitter usually runs a
90% success rate on bulls running 40" to 55". They are very hard workers and their prices are very reasonable, one of our premier outfitters. Seven days of hunting from Prince George, B.C. Airport pickup and return is included in the hunt.
This is also a great combo hunt Black Bear, Elk, and Grizzly Bear! We saw
Grizzly on our hunt and they do take some big bears. If you hunt before
the Black Bear go to bed around Oct the 8th to the 10th most years there are
some big Black Bears available! This is a great hunt and if you want a lower
cost mountain hunt with high success on nice bulls then call or e-mail us to
day.

![]() I, personally, hunted with this outfitter two seasons. Your hunt will be from horseback or conducted on a lake using a boat. One of our clients took a 63" Moose this past season. The outfitter averages 57" on his Moose. The biggest ever taken was 72". We would ask you to hold out for a 56" or better Moose. The horses are a big advantage in getting around in the tundra and muskeg. I have always shied away from horseback hunts. Now I thinks it is the only way to go! This hunt can require staying in a spike camp and you may need to assist with some of the camp chores while your guide is taking care of the horses. If you want a great adventure and are looking for an Alaskan Yukon Moose, this is a great trip. His base camp is not fancy, but very adequate. The hunt takes place at the peak of the rut. Expect to call in bulls as close as 30 yards. Fly to Whitehorse, where you will be taken by van to Mayo and flown to camp. fly-in required at added cost $850. Additional animals can be taken on a trophy fee basis. Yukon licenses are much more reasonable than Alaska. The Canadian GST tax not included 3.5%.

Moose River
Bill with his bull Moose filmed for our Hunts To Remember TV show order your copy for the cost of $20 including three additional shows! Bordering a world famous National Park, this trophy Moose and Grizzly area, north of the Arctic Circle in the foothills of the Brooks Range, offers some of Alaska's finest Moose, Grizzly and Black Bear hunting. The "Moose" River has been labeled a National Wild and Scenic river, and with very good reason. It is perhaps one of Alaska's most picturesque, tranquil and game-rich river valleys. This area is unique in that it shares a prodigious population of huge Alaskan bull Moose with a considerable number of Arctic Grizzlies, Mountain Black Bears, Wolves and occasionally fine, trophy Caribou. You'll find the Grizzlies stalking the river's edge and foraging the hillsides throughout the fall, awaiting the opportunity to dine on their favorite delicacies: the carcass of your trophy bull Moose or the Salmon that frequent the river. The Grizzlies in this area typically range from 7' and 8' and vary in coloration from dazzling blonde or deep, rich chocolate. You will generally find Mountain Black Bears ranging in size from 6' to 7'6" feeding on various species of berries on the alpine slopes that rise majestically from the river. Among the many dynamic qualities of this area is the Moose River Valley acting as a natural funnel for the bull Moose during the rut, as well as the many other animals in this region. The Moose spend their summers feeding in the National Wildlife Refuges to the south and then travel north, as the breeding season begins, to the Moose River Valley and northward to one of their primary breeding grounds within the boundaries of the National Park. During the month of September, the primary rut period in this region, almost all the bulls that are breeding in the valley, on their slow trek north, can be viewed from the many excellent vantage points along the Moose River. You can usually expect to see between 10 and 20 trophy bull Moose during your hunt. We are very selective as to what size bulls are taken. You can expect to hunt massive bulls with spreads ranging from 55" to 67" that can score in the Boone & Crockett record book! Though bull Moose are generally the primary target, a beautiful Grizzly, Black Bear, Wolf or possibly Caribou may be taken as well, provided you have purchased the necessary big game tag (s) and agree to pay the trophy fee.
My guide did not call much but some of the other guides tend to do a great deal of vocal calling on this hunt and often call between one and three bulls in each
day if the rut is in ful swing. I saw 13 bulls all over 50 inches and saw
a supper the bull the first day and should have went after him. It is call
some within 40 yards, and they have been as close as 5 yards-so you had better be ready for a heart pounding experience!
