Hunting season is from March to November. Although May to July is the winter season, in the Bushveld the days are mild to warm with only the early mornings and evenings being chilly.

June, July and August during the day 70 and 80 degrees nights 50 degrees Fahrenheit

Kuzingela specializes in Bow and Rifle Hunting and our hides are of superior quality.

Kuzingela is situated in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The climate is predictable. Summer months (Oct to March) are hot, while winter is cool and dry making for world class bow hunting.

We have two game ranches 100 km apart, which specialize in plains hunting, in the Mussina district.

We specialize in providing tailor made hunting with bow and rifle. These two game ranches are personally run by the owners, and are of the highest standards.

Kuzingela Safaris feature a large variety of plains game, and also offer an opportunity for hunting the BIG FIVE.

Our professional hunters are there to satisfy your needs, be it tracking game or bow and rifle hunting. Bow hunting classes can also be arranged.

Your personal professional hunters are in total charge of the hunt. Hunting is done on foot. A vehicle is provided to take the hunter within a reasonable distance of the game. No shooting is permitted within 200m of a vehicle. A rifle range is also provided. A successful hunt will be their priority during the hunt. To realize these objectives, certain rules and procedures are followed. We will do everything possible to ensure that you are successful and will take you to the areas which offer you the quality trophies for the species you require.

We have a number of quality trophy animals, especially Kudu, Waterbuck, Gemsbok, Eland and Impala, to name a few. Kuzingela does not take a lot of hunters, and there are exceptional trophies waiting for you.

How to get there!

Kuzingela is 20 km from Mussina, and the nearest airport is Polokwane. Visitors can fly directly to Polokwane, where our staff will be on hand to transport your party directly to Kuzingela to begin your hunting experience.

However, we would like to suggest that prospective visitors land at Nelspruit, which will give them the opportunity of a visit to the famous Kruger National Game Park, and the scenic Lowveld. Ideally this would be a minimum of a two day excursion, but if you would like to spend additional time in this area we will make all the necessary travel and accommodation arrangements which would be confirmed before arrival. After this excursion, you would proceed directly to your hunt at Kuzingela, finally departing from Polokwane Airport at the end of your stay.

Should you opt to come directly to Kuzingela via Polokwane, we can still arrange day trips to Kruger Park at a nominal cost. Additionally, being only 8 km from the Zimbabwe Border, an interesting day trip on offer is a visit to the Zimbabwe ruins. Also on our itinerary as a sight to be considered in Zimbabwe is the splendor of the Victoria Falls.

We are flexible in the extreme, enabling visits to be targeted to your personal interests. We offer free trips with a local flavor, including a tour of a diamond mine, drives along the border, and a look at some of the local color.

The success of your safari depends very much on how well you use your firearm and bow. We highly recommend you practice shooting often prior to the commencement of your safari.

To hunt a good trophy entails some walking and stalking. It is, therefore, important to be reasonably fit if you want to enjoy the hunt. Comfortable boots or hiking shoes are of primary importance. Safari-type clothing is best for the South African bush.

Bow Hunting Equipment: We strongly advise that clients should bring sufficient and adequate equipment, as bow hunting equipment is not available in South Africa.

Bow Weights: Impala, Warthog: 60 lbs.

Eland, Kudu, Zebra:      70 lbs.       

Rifle: Plains Game:    30-06,7 Mag, 338 Mag.

              Dangerous Game: 375 Mag or bigger.

Precautions:  It is advisable to consult your doctor for a course of anti-malaria prophylactics.  Commence at least two weeks before your departure for South Africa.

Clothing:  Khaki clothing for hunting or camo like Mossy Oak.  Please be advised that military camouflage is illegal in Africa.  Bring warm jackets, gloves, and hat during winter months June-August!

Liability:  Care and precautions for the safety of our clients are of prime importance to us: but we do not accept responsibility for loss, accident or illness or any expenses incurred for the same.

Terms of Payment:  All prices quoted in US dollars.  Cash or Traveler’s Checks, accepted as payment.  A deposit of 50% is required on confirmation of the hunt.  Deposits are only refundable if the hunt can be filled by someone else, less 10% to cover costs.  We strongly recommend you take cancellation insurance provided at time of booking!
