You will be accommodated
at our comfortable tented base camp, which is situated on a beautiful billabong.
Our camp is fitted out with modern facilities including 240 volt power supply,
hot showers, flush toilets, comfortable beds, linen, daily clothes washing, etc.
Your meals will be prepared by our camp cook, and will consist of the highest
quality food available (a combination of fresh and frozen produce flown into
camp). Any special requests can be catered for – make sure that you ask in
advance, as it is a long way to the corner store.
Hunting is normally
conducted by cruising the edges of the numerous huge floodplains and billabongs
in our specially equipped 4WD vehicles. Once a suitable old bull is located, the
final stalk is then conducted on foot. After your trophy is down, your guide
will photograph your trophy and skin it for mounting as per your requirements.
As the land dries out,
usually during July and August, we are able to access previously inaccessible
areas where the monster Buffaloes reside. Access to some of our new unexplored
areas is by crossing one of the billabongs or lakes by boat, to a waiting 4WD
vehicle. Truly exciting hunting in the “real” Australian outback.

Craig
Boddington,
"For
more than a decade I have entrusted all of my South Pacific hunts to
Bob Penfold of Hunt Australia Pty. Ltd.; and his New Zealander chum and
partner, John Berry of Hunt New Zealand Safaris. Not all of my hunts have
been successful; some South Pacific animals are just plain difficult!
That's okay; that just means I have excuses to go back-and go back I
will. Nobody knows the South Pacific like Bob Penfold and John Berry, and
nobody has better access to the full range of South Pacific game. All of
my hunts with his outfit have been enjoyable, from good camps with good
guides, and always with plenty of game. Most of them have resulted in
exceptionally good trophies-but all have yielded good memories of great
hunting experiences.
I have
hunted with Bob Penfold in Australia, from the
from mountains of Victoria to the Cobourg Peninsula and into the farthest
reaches of the Outback; for banteng, buffalo, wild boar, sambar, hog deer,
and more. I have hunted with both Bob Penfold and John Berry in
Caledonia
deer hunt. And I have hunted with John Berry in
Himalayan tahr, fallow deer, and more. The good news is I still have work
to do in their part of the world, and I can't wait to go back.
